Quite true about the horror flicks and why we watch 'em
Some suggest why we horrorize ourselves (hunted house, movies) is to satiate that psychotic sadistic part (may it be little or scary -will kill ya type- big)
the satisfaction that this happens not to you but to others and that we r invincible cuz we come out unscathed from all of this
I don't believe that anyone can watch a horror movie (or any movie) and not come away completely unscathed. They stay in your mind and haunt you forever!
